Shawn Mars is the mastermind behind Mars Needs Women, but he felt it was about time to spread his wings a little and record a solo album. The difference between this solo album, though, and most others is that Shawn wrote and recorded every note on the CD himself. He says the concept behind the disc was to challenge himself at every turn. Mixed in with Shawn's usual golden-touch for power-pop ("Nasty Habit", "Who Rules Your Planet?", "All About You"), Fabulous Disaster includes takes on garage rock ("Fabulous", "Piss And Vinegar"), reggae ("Never Take Me Alive"), industrial rock ("Automatic"), ballads ("Song For A Girl", "Sparkle And Shine"), retro-rock ("Sucker", "Stars On Mars"), dance ("Family Jewels"), arena rock ("Control Freak") and even cinematic rock ("Blood Into Wine"). What holds it all together, though, is Shawn's ear for a great pop hook. Trust us when we say this one is gonna be a classic.
